The Delanne 10 C has a superb shape.
I thought it deserved to be tried out with a float equipment.
I susally paint my models in blue, yellow or red, so that just their aerodynamics and shape are highlighted ;
this time, as an exception, i used orange ;)

I also made the Delanne)Lysander in blue, but just natural this time (except for the color ;) ), no floats.
It is so beautiful that it looks like a What Ih, whereas it is jst plainly true :D

This tandem wing part of your collection is great! Thanks for enjoying us with it! :-*
-
:) :)
-
Oh my those are so incredibly charming! I love the primary colors and your work appears flawless!

thanks a lot!
the photos are small, that is why you believe it's flawless ;)
my building skills are extremely basic, and I paint with ... a brush! :o

Love the hydravion Delanne 10 C2 :-*
-
Last night, Ericr, you made me dream of tandem wings... :-*
I needed to reveal (to the whole World) that the Delanne 10C2 was a derivative of the Lockheed P-38, yes! Here are the missing links: :-\ ;)
-
yipes! that yellow one is great, Tophe ! :o
-
excellent missing link !
P-38 and Delanne united !!!
maybe you could also try out a link between Delanne and ... P-51? :icon_meditation:
-
Yes! Thanks! Here are the Delanne ERP-51s: :)
-
Corrected colours, sorry... ;)
-
excellent ;)
it seems quite possible to build them ...
-
Maybe there is too much scratchbuilding to build them though... More easy tandem-winged Mustangs could be like this:

Amusing thought: this begs to be set up in a diorama, sitting on the water somewhere with the pilot having opened the rear canopy and sitting fishing... ;D
Hmmm...can I get a kit in 1/48?

Nice idea! :D
I remember the Hasegawa 1/72 kit for the Zero floatplane with a water-diorama (a kind of clear resin base with the main float and a secondary float in water) : it also has a figure of a pilot in swimming suit, hold a ... fishing cane ! ;)
So your idea seems doable, provided you find the ingerdients :o
I know only of a 1/72 kit for the Delanne, but not 1/48.
-
Nice idea, that's my opinion too. :-*
The Delanne 10 seems to be available in both 1/72 and 1/144:

I have no Photoshop but with my old Corel Photo Paint 6, I have tried...:
-
WOW that canopy!
Love it! :-*
-
Maybe you could try someday a 3-surface tandew-wing layout...

Another Ericr-inspired Delanne Lightning-seaplane...:

Your Delanne tandem wings continue to inspire me... more and more crazily:

Your tandem wings don't stop inspiring me... ;)

I asked Google pictures "Lysander Delanne model" and got almost nothing, is your one full scratchbuilding? It seems it would be the third Delanne-Lysander model ever made in the World... (and the very first one with civilian colours)

waaahhh ! :o
it looks a bit like the Caspian Monster Ekranoplan ...

I found a conversion kit, in vacuformed plastic, combined wit a Matchbox Lysander, somewhere on e-bay I think ... Maybe it was by Aeromodel?
-
Aren't Delanne type tandem winged aircraft meant to have the forward wing larger than the aft one?

Corrected DL-38 (or PR-38?):
