Title: 1/56 Shredder
Post by: uncle les on February 12, 2019, 12:15:50 PM
Last year the Army came to me with a request to build some Shredders for mudmap training .  Here's one we made earlier.
It's an M1 ABV dolled up in Auscam as is the fashion of the day !  I include it here as, to my knowledge, it's still in the "whatif" world.

Not so much a whatif but a willbe.  Under Land 8160 Phase 1, the ARA is to acquire both these and the matching bridging vehicle.

Interesting scale.  I assume 25mm?

As to whether or not the Army gets something like this, that is highly dependent on many factors.   The biggest one is whether they can convince Treasury to part with the dosh.   I've seen them supposedly claim the M551 Sheridan as part of the OrBat for the Infantry Division, way back in the early 1960s.   Wonder where they went?

1/56 is the accepted ( by most and more importantly, those paying) wargaming scale also known as 28mm.
