I did a bunch of profiles of the Skyshark back in the day including A-1 type developments. Amongst the more popular were an SEA camo'd example.

I think the Skyshark is one of those aircraft that are both ugly and very appealing at the same time, and so it is a great source of inspiration!

I am tempted to do a 4 seat AD-5 (A-1E) style Skyshark with side-by-side seating.

My own take on the Skyshark was the Douglas XR7D-1 Skytrader. This aircraft was created by stretching some of the Skyshark's parts to turn it into a mid-size transport and utility aircraft. Of course, the plagued Allison T40 turbine would have doomed any chance of success, and even if it had, one engine would not have sufficed to get this thing airborne. If I were to rework it I would give it a push-pull configuration as in the planned DC-8 Skybus.

I think, that I like this plane more and more with every time I look on it. Another one for future plans: Skyshark as a "Tu-92": Imperial Russian Navy Skyrider/Gannet equivalent.

Well, you can always have the XT40 replaced by a T54, which bears the same relationship to the T56 that the XT40 bears with the XT38 (i.e. two gas generators feeding power to one combining gearbox; XT40 used two XT38 gas generators and the T54 would've used two of the T56 gas generators). Given the success of the T56, one can assume the T54 would've also done well.
