they started new lives with bits of airplanes (guess which?  ;) ) :

a propeller transport :

a twin boom :

and a jet plane :

Beautiful conversions.  Pray tell, what went into each besides the obvious helicopter parts?  I can guess some, but there are some bits that puzzle me.

Using helicopters as airplane fuselages is some incredibly inspired thinking, eric!

Not only that but you did so in your wonderful and inimitable style.

Some of your best yet!

 thanks ;)

for the CH53 : a 1/200 Transall

for the EC135 : a MC72 wing 1/48, engines from a Planes-movie character, and tail from a P38, and wheels from a Twin Otter

for the UH60 : the wings of a Me262 1/72

I guessed right on the first and third.  Still, a most excellent blend of disparate parts into a harmonious whole.

another bat :

the radar nose made it unavoidable

this time with reinforced wings, so that they flap up

(still have two more in the stash  )

Beautiful!!  Bat wings work well with the radar nose.

I think I like this one best of all the animal hybrids.

The bat wings are fantastic and nicely complimented by that canopy.

Even the dreaded yellow looks sweet.

Yellow was also my mom's favorite color.

When we played board games, she'd say that we could give her any color, but regardless she'd move the yellow piece.

Great stuff, eric!

I had this An-2 on my stash, the floats already used elsewhere, as well as a couple of bats :
enough to make a biplane :

Now that is cute.  You really need to mate the bat wings with a Tu-2 fuselage since "Bat" was its NATO codename.
