I plan to do a turboprop Maritime Patrol version of the He177 someday
-
I have this kit FW-200 :

on which I think I will now use He 177 wings after seeing your profiles.

Fw-200 Condor He-177 Greiff (Nose, tail, wings, and engines)

Fw-200 with He-177 wings and DB 610 or NK12 engines.

I wonder - 4 engined He177 but instead of coupled DB606s/DB610s or even 4 separate 'conventional' mounts such as not he He274/277, they do tandem DB601s/605s/603s with one in puller, one in pusher config but all in the same nacelle. Would probably need tricycle undercarriage though. Would be conceptually similar to this:
-
And just for something simple, what about a He177 in North African or even Italian schemes?
-
And just like that I find something:
-
And last of all: Mistel He177...which one can apparently get in conversion kit form:

Art work of tandem DB601s/605s/603s with one in puller, one in pusher configuration is inspiring.

As is the Turboprop idea... That might get stolen

I was planning on using some of the Unicraft DB.021 ones (they come in 1/48 & 1/72):

I was also planning on replacing the tail gun with a MAD boom and maybe take the turrets off.

Hi Greg (GTX), is this your idea of tandem engines?
(https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/j340/ysi_maniac/He-177_2tandem.jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds) (https://app.photobucket.com/u/ysi_maniac/a/caec78e4-057f-4fe9-82f4-083a43455765/p/5dcb1599-d13a-4c01-b2bd-410e933dc1b0)

Like that profile

One would definitely need either nose wheel tricycle undercarriage or perhaps tilting rear props ala Do26 below:

In order to fix the problem with cooling... what about installing deeper annular radiators?

When you read about the problems with the DB606 they were a lot more than just not having enough cooling. The entire engine layout/installation was a mess., especially the oil system When the DB610s were fitted though it sounds like much was resolved.
I find this comment supposedly from Göring of interest though: "Why has this silly engine suddenly turned up, which is so idiotically welded together? They told me then, there would be two engines connected behind each other, and suddenly there appears this misbegotten monster of welded-together engines one cannot get at!"

That last one (He577) is superb!
-
Inspirational builds.
-
The first two were built by Trickyrich. He a BTS member but has not logged in in 2 over years.
Unable to identify the builder of the He-577. I wonder where the wings came from if not scratch built.
-
The He577 has a good dose of Horten Ho 229. In fact checking proves that correct - see here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234927171-group-build-chat/page/3/ (https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234927171-group-build-chat/page/3/)

Thanks Greg. I googled "He 577" and this is my first search entry:

Errr...you might have to use quite a bit of PSR to modify that one...just saying. ;)

Errr...you might have to use quite a bit of PSR to modify that one...just saying. ;)
True ... but do-able ;)
And I'm thinking that you really only need the top of the bowl  I haven't tried to 'weather' the bowl, that should be left to the toilet user :P

Thanks Stephen as I now have to wipe my morning coffee of my screen and keyboard. ;D

Schnelltransport, staff or cargo, extra tankage under cabin, based on He-177

Definitely need to move the fuel tanks from the original design:

I quite like that last one. How about a maritime patrol version with MAD book?
-
I like the one with the Ju-x88 nose.
