1/72 Morane-Saulnier MS.480 Morse
« on: February 15, 2017, 04:47:58 AM »
I owe you some pictures so here is where I am at with my now designated Morane-Saulnier MS.480 Morse.

It is coming along. I am still working on the engine nacelle and pylon. The floats are not yet glued on.

So far I am using parts from different 4 kits.

Markings are TBD.

Good! :-* Is it all scratchbuilt or coming from something commercial?

Thank you. The fuselage and floats are from the Matchbox Walrus. The wings are from a B7A1 Grace. The engine cowl is from the B7A1 Grace and the back is from a cut up 1/48 drop tank. I scratch built the engine mount.

This is going to be interesting Carl...I was thinking sometime ago to make a Walrus with similar configuration.
Well,if I haven't lost permanently my mojo I'll probably participate with a model in this GB.

To give it that interwar French look (which is generally to say, as ugly as sin)  if you could find some angular or disproportionately bulbous turrets for the nose and dorsal positions, they would fit perfectly. They'd probably need to be modified, have the framing sanded off and repolished, but something bulbous like a B-10 turret or the like would suit the bill.

Only one rifle caliber MG, of course.

I like it! Those wings give it a real "seabird" feel. Nicely done! A very clever, and natural, mix of parts.

Very cool build.  I love the smooth, aerodynamically elegant engine pod on top of a flying barn of a hull - very 1930s French!  I'm looking forward to seeing how you handle the glass enclosures...
