Escape from the Zombies
« on: January 30, 2016, 03:03:08 PM »
This is the most excellent Masterbox Zombie Hunter Road to Freedom set.
All the figures are in the box, but no motorbike. They have lots of options on the box art, mostly WW2 bikes which, really do not work.
I used the Tamiya JGSDF Recon set Honda CRX250 (I think.. not strong on bikes)

Bike mods

Out of the box, the spokes are commendably thin, so I left them as they were and fought my AMS tendancies
The dumpster is something I have had for years and finally got to use it. Although there are much better kit and resin options out there now
Cheers

Great job, Brain! Brian! I need to redo mine - the side car wasn't helpful and your build proves that the less crap dangling off the bike, the better. The policewoman zombie seems mighty cheerful.

LOL - I was thinking exactly the same thing - she's pretty friendly for a zombie

Very cool Brian - I've seen a few of these zombie sets of late. I'm not tempted though - I suck at figure painting. I'm happy to see someone with talent do it instead

This is great!! How long did it take you to build?

Brian, did you have to do a fair amount of surgery to Milla Jovovich's butt to get her to sit naturally on the bike?

Oh, there are so many ways to take that statement...

First up thanks, I agree about the Police/Security officer, the pose really does not appear appropriate, perhaps I should have lowered the arm a bit, more reaching out, If I recall, the sit of the arm did not quite appear right. I also thought of a quick fix to explain the crawling lady that I will implement before an future public showings.
As to time,
The figures are stock out of the box, so no trauma there, http://www.mbltd.info/35175.htm barely a 2 hour session.
The bike a bit longer, but it is tamiya. Painting again, no mega figure painting here, all base colours, drybrush highlights and washes.

Brian, did you have to do a fair amount of surgery to Milla Jovovich's butt to get her to sit naturally on the bike?

Not a lot, the dirt bike has a bit more ground clearance and it works ok. Any gappage is <excuse the Pun> at the rear and hidden by stores.
Still kudos to MB for bringing out a set like this

Nice one Brian. :)

Any objection to me circulating the pics on Twitter (full credit of course)?

Of course not.. the World needs to be prepared for the Zombie holocaust, outside of the current infestation of smartphone focused drones

Are you referring to smartphone-seeking drones or drones carrying smartphones?  The second definitely fit most of the zombie definition.

Well, they filmed a screen adaptation of Stephen King's Cell, which is all about cell phone zombies.  ;D
http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3378238/stephen-kings-cell-samuel-l-jackson-john-cusack-and-isabelle-fuhrman-images/

The comments section is bang-head-on-desk inducing, as a couple of the geniuses evidently don't understand
that the word cell in cell phone does not refer to the appearance or level of tech and that even the most
whiz-bang non-satellite 'smart-phone' of today is still a frakkin' cell-phone.

I was at a construction site where a building had been torn down. There was a 10 foot drop right off the edge of the sidewalk. Barricades and lots of yellow tape kept most people away. Except for one lady texting on her phone as she walked. When the yellow tape was stretched to the breaking point she finally looked up and stopped just at the edge of the hole. Then she just turned and walked away. Six foot high fencing was brought in after that.
