Utilising the airframe of the MQ-8B Firescout, the intrepid engineers of the "Langford Fusileers"* converted several to piloted operations with the addition of a rudimentary open air cockpit. Since the aircraft had been designed from the ground up as a UAV, it lacked the normal controls a standard helicopter would require, so a hacked in game controller provided the flight control capabilities. Weight was paramount, so a lawn chair was sourced to provide seating. *The Langford Fusileers is a fictional Canadian military unit, known for improvised vehicles, unconventional tactics, and a vague definition of roles.

Used the 1/35 Takom kit of the MQ-8B, with scratchbuilt "cockpit", lawn chair, with various 1/35 accessories from MENG and Italeri

I can see the next James Bond having one of these - Whoa Nellie !

That came out great! I wanted to do a similar, manned version since the MQ-8B is based on a commercial helicopter, the Schweizer 333

Excellent :icon_surprised:  8)

Good to see they have their priorities right & have installed a cup/can holder!

I actually laughed out loud, this is fantastic! I love it so much!

I've wanted to do one OOB ever since I first saw one, now I want to do it too! But with a more...sensible cockpit ;D

It looks perfectly sensible to me! Is there room for the rotor blades at the coffee and donut shop? Maybe land on the roof.....

The Hortons on Goldstream Avenue has a drive-through window. So, for take-outs, the Langford Fusileers will need some sort of extensible pantograph system to reach beyond the rotor disc ;)

"a hacked in game controller"
I see what you did there.

Wow!! Excellent idea and excellent build!
