Title: Litvyak's List of things to find, things to trade...
Post by: Litvyak on October 17, 2012, 10:38:09 AM
After a rethinking of my plans for RW builds, I've got a bunch of stuff that I'm willing to trade.

Here's what I've got available, all 1/72:

(all complete and unstarted, but most have been opened for inspection)

Kits
RoG AB212/UH-1N
Italeri An-2
Hasegawa B-47E
Italeri CH-146
Airfix DHC-1 Chipmunk (new box)
Italeri H-21C with Belcher Bits decal set BD21 (RCAF and Swedish H-21s)
Dragon P-38J
Roden SE.5a
Starfix T-38
Matchbox UC-64A Norseman

A few I *may* consider trading, if the deal's right:

F-RSIN DH Comet 1 (injection moulded, with decals for RCAF and Canadian Pacific Air Lines)
SH Digby Mk. I (B-18 in Canadian Service)
Fujimi F7U-3M Cutlass

Decals
Arrow Graphics J-1-72 RCAF Lancaster Mk. X (Rescue scheme)
Arrow Graphics E-9-72 RCAF P2V-7 Neptune (white/grey scheme) + Arrow Graphics D-10-72 RCAF/CAF Lightning Stripes
Leading Edge 72.21 RCAF Harvard Mk. 4 (Goldilocks display team scheme)
Whiskey Jack 72-049 RCAF Grumman Goose (412 Sqn)

Misc
Belcher Bits resin conversion set for CH-124A Sea King (FLIR turret, RWR, sonobuoy launcher etc)

1/48 Decals
Flightdecs "US Jets in Yugoslav Service" (T-33A, F-84G, F-86E(M), F-86D)

---

Stuff I'm looking for (all 1/72)

First, the more important ones (these I'd be willing to buy instead of trade for):

Kits
Airfix Supermarine S6B
Airmodel Hunting Pembroke
Emhar FJ3 Fury
Fujimi or new-tool Hasegawa F-4E
Hasegawa Shinmeiwa PS-1
Hasegawa N1K1 float fighter
Heller DH89 Dragon Rapide
KP (or other) Avia B534
Magna or Czechmaster Supermarine Scimitar F.1
Magna (or other decent) Supermarine Swift
MPM (or other) Aichi M6A
Pegasus XP-40Q
Amodel Su-1

Decals
Aussie Decals A72036 (F-4E)
Modeldecal 115 (various RAF incl. 1435 Flt (Falklands) Phantom FGR.2)

Misc
1x Matchbox F-101 Voodoo exhaust (or a pair of better ones)

And the second group, those that are of some interest, but not as high on the "need" list as the ones listed earlier (these are more, I'll trade, but probably don't want enough to buy):

Airfix DH Heron II
Airmodel HFB320 Hansajet
Heller B707 (would probably buy)
Modelist Polikarpov I-185
Pegasus Avro Tutor
Zvezda Su-47 Berkut
(unknown) Ki-27

EDIT: updated

Erm! excuse me Miss!, you do realize you'll have to up the ante if you want an Airways Bristol Britannia, they're as rare as hen's teeth ---  ;D  (and yes I have one and no, it's not for sale).

Even rarer is one of their Canadair CL-44 kits -----

And I believe the F-RSIN DH Comet 1 is actually 1/144 scale ---

Re: the Britannia - I figured, yeah - that's why it's in the "would also be willing to buy" section. (However: if I can figure out a way to build a 1/72 Argus without using one of those, the Britannia will drop of the list. I need a 1/72 Argus to go with my Aurora, Tracker and Neptune!)

As for the F-RSIN Comet, yeah, it's 1/144. Vapour lock in the brain on my part!

Airways did one of those too but I've never seen one even on eBay.  I got hold of a vacuform kit manufactured by a South African fellow who went under the name of Santos, it was one of only ten made. It was a bit expensive --- they have popped up on eBay occasionally

But if you're up to doing some scratch building there's another option. Herrill's Execuform does a basic vacuform of the CL-28 Argus and it sells for US$48.00 as of Feb this year.  It's a new addition to their listing and I have one of these on my shopping list  ---   and they also have an 1/72 Avro Canada C102 Jetliner kit for sale too if you're interested, this is definitely on my shopping list

Ooh, that's good to know! I'm definitely adding that Argus to my shopping list, though for the Jetliner I'll most likely go for the F-RSIN kit (in part because it's easier, and in part because all my other airliners are in 1/144

Er, shouldn't that Emhar Fury be a FJ-4?  I don't know of anyone who has produced a good FJ-3.  Revell of Europe re-popped the Emhar kit (I've got it in both boxings) and there's also the Rareplanes vac-form of the FJ-4 (again, 1/72).  I'd be interested in the Hawk with decals as purchase or trade.  I want to hang on to most of my FJ-4 kits as I intend to do at least one FJ-4NE (FJ-4/F-86K cross); likely in RCN markings since it was originally done by the NAA-Columbus PD group for the requirement the RCN bought Banshees to.

Yes - it should be FJ-4! I'm after its wings and landing gear, to do what you mentioned there, what in AltCan is the CFC1/CF-102 Jacktar. PM sent!

The undercarriage on that kit are very fragile, you'd be better off trying to get a set of the Aeroclub gear, set V183.  I used them on my prop driven F-86D/Crecy Fighter (see below).

You could try Joe's Models and see if he has a set in stock, but you have to contact him.

http://www.joesmodels.com/AEROCLUB_72_various_accessories.htm (http://www.joesmodels.com/AEROCLUB_72_various_accessories.htm)

Alternatively, if someone in the UK is going to Telford in a couple of weeks time, you could ask them to pick up a set straight from John Adams (Aeroclub) who's usually has a table there.

Or I could ask my friend Steve Gardner if he would add a set to my order I've asked him to get for me when he goes there.

Thanks for the info in this thread. I just received the Ex-Execuform Avro c-102 Jetliner, and Canadair Argus. Yikes! The Argus is going to take a LOT of work, but the Jetliners look do-able. Yes, plural, I got two Jetliners.

Happy dance!

Just a heads up, the email for Execuform that is currently in  use was hacked a few days back. I got one of those "Help us we were mugged" emails, and was able to call Mike Herril and let him know his email was compromised. Mike and his wife are in their 80s, and likely didn't have a high level of password protection set, but it's like;ly been a PITA for him and the Mrs.

I've no idea if he's going to be getting a new email. but if i do find out, I'll let you guys here know.

Good to know Alvis, was trying to contact him about a month ago and was getting blocked by something.  Anyway didn't get any reply from anyone --
