I just ordered three sets of these replacement wheels for the three Aliens APC kits I currently have in protective custody.

Price is $16.00/set of 4 plus shipping/postage.

Aimee lives near Portland, Oregon so this was an easy transaction.

You can contact Aimee via eMail at this address: <umi_ryuzuki@hotmail.com>

Attached image shows what the replacement tires look like.

Nice find. Nice work.
Work in progress ::

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

I think the Aliens tread is directional (or "handed"), does the set come with left & right sides?

@Graeme -  No idea on the 'handed' feature of the tires until I have the items in hand.  I shared the link to the topic with Aimee so maybe she can clarify that if she reads this topic.

The more research I did, the less likely the tires appeared to be "handed".
So all of the treads are the same. As shown in the full size vehicle.

Hi Aimee and welcome to the BTS forums :)

Thanks for the help in answering Graeme's question about the tire treads.

That is cool, and thanks.

You know what - we are both right. The tire tread is most definitely handed, ie, the diagonal groove on one side points up & right, and on the other, points down & left, which indicates a directional tread. However, and this is a key however, the Aliens APC as depicted in the stills provided above, show that there is only 1 pattern (direction), and its used on both sides of the movie prop.

Picked up my package at my brother's house this evening and was very pleased with the contents contained within.

Three zip-lock bags containing four nicely cast resin wheels/tires with only the hint of a pour plug/sprue located on the inside of each wheel.

The tread pattern details are superb.  Compared to the kit parts these things are several levels above the injection molded parts in the tread pattern and no seam to deal with down the center of each wheel.

Great work Aimee!

These replacement wheels are exactly what was needed :)

Wheels and Rubber tires and a steerable knuckle to mount the wheels are now available.

Now I am wishing I had waited until these new items were available.  :)

It would have been difficult to wait for this version, as I had designs in my head for years, and only pushed forward last year,
because of two customers, one a garage kit maker that was interested in the original cast wheels.  :icon_meditation:
The steering needs a bit of trimming to let the wheel roll freely.

These look very nice. I have a Halcyon APC that could use these.

Pricing and ordering instructions, please?

The wheels and tires and steering knuckle are $64.00 you can email me, at the address posted above, I use Paypal to transfer funds.

Good news,

saw your work in this on SSM so great to see an update.
Like many, there is the Halcyon kit in the stash and now the reasons for not building it are disappearing.
This wheels update is now under careful consideration
