anglo french tsr2
« on: August 13, 2014, 01:42:03 AM »
although the tsr2 designs looked promising the uk government decided not to persue the project before it got off the drawing board due to cost.
the project was resurected as a joint anglo french agreement but the french were unhappy with the small wing area and demanded a redesign in this area.
unsurprisingly they put forward a delta design which was eventually accepted by the british under the proviso that they keep the blown control surface. the upshot of this was extremely short take off roll and larger payload and fuel.

My first thought was HERESY ! A French TSR 2...bollocks to that !!! ;)

But once you see the nice delta, it becomes sort of.. why not. :)

The wing-tips need to be drooped, though, 'coz that's one of the things that shouts TSR2 when you look at one. ;)

probably wont be because the wing wont be shoulder mounted

Damn, that's looking nice.  I'd love to see how it compares in size to some of the Mirage IVB proposals (the ones with J75s or equivalent).

Yowsa those are some of the sweetest TSR2s I've ever seen! Love the fractal camo & VG wing on the one and the wonderful RAF camo & delta on the other! Truly show-stopping!

As for the wingtip missiles, I kind of like them. A little bit of whimsy isn't a bad thing in my view.

Great stuff and thank you for sharing!

Great pair of kites, (must put mine up some time.) I think the wingtip winders help with the period look, they fit the time.
The VG looks kind of TSR 2ski. Nice stuff.  :)

If it's great, I did it. If it's naff, I found it.
