Title: Whiffery on Deck
Post by: Eddie M. on January 17, 2016, 12:33:07 AM
Good afternoon Gents.. Here are the last two and maybe the only two projects that I got done in '15'. The CH-54 is OOB with Blackhawk weapons pylons and rockets added for self defense. I read that when these big boys went out, they always needed Slicks or Cobras for cover so, I gave it a little bit of a bite itself. I scratch built the Daisy Cutter out of a large Stuka bomb provided to me from Mr. Fontaine and added bits and bobs to round it out.

Next is just a train wreck that I managed to make something decent out of.... It's the Revell Choctaw with 1/72 V-22 wing and props. I liked the idea of an early VTOL bird, so here it is... :)

Yeah, but love the tilt-rotor Choctaw  :-*

Checks all the boxes for me too!! It really captures a retro future look and the scheme is pretty too. Superb!

Very nice, Eddie! That VTOL Choctaw is a special kind of crazy, but I LOVE the CH-54. Just love it.

The Tilt-Rotor* H-34 is hilarious.  ;D

* I'm not going to call it a VTOL H-34 as being a helicopter it was always VTOL.  ;D  :icon_fsm:

Regarding CH-54:  Top notch concept for payload.
Your building these two reveals an insightful kitbashing mind  :)

H-34 is so "correct" makes me wanna build one.

Thanks Finsrin... I wish I could claim originality on the CH-54 load out, but that was a real life mission they carried out. I just thought it looked ballsy and decided to give it a whirl.. :)

In the 3rd image, the main LG tires look very unhappy.  ;D

Good Evening Gents! I certainly don't crank out the projects like I use to, but I do finish one here and there. Mr. Fontaine asked if I had finished my Super Stallion with a bite and remembered that I did.... Here she is with two mini gun pods as well as Sidewinders for a little extra kick. Along with that I'm including a real world V-22 that I built as an example of one of the many aircraft we build parts for...Hope y'all are enjoying your evening!

Thank you very much!

The CH-54 lends itself to a wide scope of uses, real or proposed. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with your repaired work horse. :)

Eddie, thanks for sharing image of your Sea Stallion with a bite.  I think it was GTX that has wondered aloud about an armed CH-53 and I remembered your project.  V-22 is a nice surprise too.  BZ!

That's beyond awesome, Sailor! The load-out is totally wicked and adding those Sidewinders really takes it to the next level!

It's a treat to see this baby and that V-22 is some real eye-candy too!

Not a WHIF but a great build. Scratch built CH-54B (scale not shared) but what a beauty. I'm guessing 1/32 or 1/35.

It is YUUUUUUGE!  :)

Also very nice to see a larger scale model of the much ignored CH-54 Tarhe.

Using the A4 sheet of paper as reference, the CH-54 scales out at 1/18th approx
It's just superb :P :-*
