I was experimenting with some weathering on this build as the paint job has so many flaws it ridiculous. Anything would make it look better. Anyway, I sprayed some thinned flat black down the sides to simulate the smoke from the 30mm gun. It looked good going on but when it dried almost the entire side below the cockpit was black. Looks like less is more in this case. No loss. Need to add the weapons and unmask the canopy and I think this will be done!!  ;D

I keep some old very worn-out wet & dry sandpaper for such events.  Carefully carefully does it  :smiley:

It looks finished to me!
Here's some pics. Not a contest entry by any means but it turned out ok. The weathering experiment was very educational for me.

Well, I think that came out rather well, all in all.

My explanation is that this aircraft has seen a lot of action firing the 30mm so that explains the dirt.
