Now there's a familiar view, The Needles, Isle of Wight UK. My home town is just a few miles away on the mainland to the west (left in this photo).
Here's something interesting, as you can see the Needles and peninsular are chalk (famous all along the southern coast of the UK), but the next peninsular above it is different. The cliff face has minerals of all the different colours you can think of and you used to be able to buy a test tube at a stand at the top of the cliff and then work your way down a cliff path and fill the tube with the different minerals. These days though, you buy a test tube full of sand which has various colours dyed in ---
Mostly because so many people were taking the minerals the cliff was disappearing ---
