I think you will find that they aren’t Fulcrums either but rather Shenyang J-15s:

All hail the God of Frustration!!!

You can't outrun Death forever.
But you can make the Bastard work for it.

Hollywood style drama. Don't look for facts, logic or reasoning.  :icon_crap:

Exactly...though in the present climate there may well be a bit of patriotic messaging going on.
All hail the God of Frustration!!!

The "escorts" have a bit of a Japanese look to them, maybe the carrier is sinking them with its "deathrays"

They could be Indonesian or Vietnamese Fulcrums as well I guess. Can't really make out the markings on the birds.

Greg, isn't the J-15 a development of the J-11?

Friend of mine in halfway through this, only to find out Trumpeter sent 2 sprues with right-hand fenders and none with the left. Their QC has really gone downhill lately. The same thing happened to me with an ASLAV-PC.

The shapes are distinctly Sukhoi.

The J-15 is indeed a development of the J-11 which is itself a development of the Su-27.

^ AFAIK, the Chinese bought a Su-33 prototype from Ukraine.

No deathrays involved. Look at the wake of the carrier.  ;) They rammed the (Kongo-class?) destroyer!  :o  :icon_beer:

Via the The Modelling News.

In 1944 the Construction Bureau of the Ural Heavy Machinery Plant developed the SU-101 with the D-10S gun and the SU-102 with the D-25S gun. Both vehicles were designated as Uralmash-1. Prototypes were manufactured in April 1945. The vehicles never entered mass production nor saw any active service.

SA-5/S-200 is definitely a nice choice.  Will they also consider the associated radars for the system?

And of course, one day after the Tiger announcement, we have this:

off topic..

I'm building the Tiger Leopard , and it is heaps better in terms of fit than any Trumpeter kit I've done. Very Tamiya-esque. If I were looking at getting a Pantsir, it would be the Tiger one hands down.
